What is Safe Travel Allowance?

The Transport Department will cooperate with the Epidemic Command Centre and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assess whether by the end of 2020 it will join other countries that have also stabilized the epidemic situation to promote the International Tourism Alliance to gradually relax various border control measures.

【Independent Travel Subsidy】
Accommodation:
Basic subsidy plan: $1,000 basic subsidy per room per night, applicable to weekdays and holidays, limited to 1 use per person
Outlying Islands Subsidy Plan: An additional subsidy of $1,000 per room, and one more discount subsidy per person
Safe Travel Subsidy Hotel Inquiry: From 2020/06/18 at 14pm, FIT travelers can check the “Participants” section of the Taiwan Travel & Lodging website for tourist hotels, restaurants or B&Bs that have participated in this activity
Transportation:
Free travelers can participate in the Taiwan sightseeing bus half-day or one-day tour itinerary, two people traveling with one person for free, and it is applicable to weekdays and holidays
Sightseeing and recreation:
Citizens below high school age can enter the kindergarten for free during the summer vacation, and there is no limit to the number of times.

How to apply for the Safe Travel Allowance
Go to the “Safe Travel Application Website” to upload your personal ID card or health insurance card→ upload your ID card/photo ID → cut → send → enter your name (Chinese), mobile phone, ID number, birthday, current city, and email address, and a confirmation letter will be issued after success. When you want to check in, you must indicate to the operator that you want to use the safe travel subsidy, and provide your mobile phone and ID card number information for verification. Please note that if you book accommodation from a third-party platform such as Agoda or Booking.com, you will not be able to use the subsidy offer.
