Located in the Taiping Mountain Forest Recreation Area of Datong Township, with an area of more than 12,000 hectares, the whole area has the Nanhu Mountain Range, the Sanxing Mountain Range, and the branch veins of Daba Jianshan, which is famous for its abundance of red cypress and cypress, and has been listed as one of the three major forest farms in Taiwan along with Alishan and Baxian Mountain. Its four seasons are different, and the spring flowers are colorful; When autumn is high and cool, the sunrise and sea of clouds are the most unforgettable. The altitude difference in this area is very large, and the climate from subtropical to cold zone is numerous, and the tree species in each forest zone are complex and the materials are beautiful.

Spring (March to May) Fresh spring buds, lush green mountains
In spring, Taipingshan is covered in tender green new leaves, with light, drifting mist between the valleys. The warm weather during this period awakens the flowers, grasses, and trees throughout the mountains, and plants such as cherry blossoms and azaleas bloom in full, forming a brilliant sea of flowers. Occasional spring rain brings a faint veil of moisture, making the valley scenery even more poetic and full of vitality.
Summer (June to August) Admire purple-leaf maple trees and mountain-wide maple-red hues
In summer, Taipingshan is a popular retreat from the heat. Thanks to its higher elevation, temperatures are cool, and you can also enjoy a unique maple-red landscape. Unlike typical maple leaves, the purple-leaf maples lining both sides of the central staircase in Taipingshan sprout purplish-red new leaves in summer, creating a blazing red spectacle.

Winter (December to February) A snow-white wonderland beyond compare
In winter, Taipingshan is northern Taiwan’s top destination for chasing snow. When cold fronts arrive, there is often a chance of snowfall. Snow blankets the ridges and treetops, and scenes such as rime ice and frozen waterfalls are common, turning Taipingshan into a mysterious, silvery, dreamlike world.

Spring (March to May)
Average temperatures are about 5°C to 12°C. Layer multiple thick long-sleeve tops and long pants, and wear a heavy coat. Although it warms up considerably during the day compared with winter, the day–night temperature difference is large, and it can still feel as cold as winter after sunset.
Summer (June to August)
Average temperatures are about 13°C to 18°C. Short sleeves with long pants are recommended, and please bring a light jacket and a sun hat. Compared with the lowlands, the mountains are cooler; those who are sensitive to cold may even feel a slight chill. It is still recommended to bring a few warm layers, just in case.
Autumn (September to October)
Average temperatures are about 8°C to 15°C. Layer multiple long-sleeve tops and long pants, plus a heavy coat. The climate is similar to spring, but the sunshine is warmer, so the day–night temperature difference feels even more pronounced. Please continue to keep warm.
Winter (December to February)
Average temperatures are about 3°C to 7°C. Wear multiple layers of thick, warm long-sleeve clothing and long pants. When cold fronts arrive, winter accessories such as a knit hat, gloves, and a scarf are all necessary. Even on sunny days, the air can still feel cool. Travelers who are sensitive to cold may adjust their clothing based on their physical condition.
